Musicien très charismatique, il est un des fondateurs de Sac à Pulses et un fabuleux saxophoniste. Fortement inspiré par Sidney Bechet, il a été invité d'honneur aux Nuits Sidney Bechet au Casino de Paris, il s'en démarque néanmoins par un son très personnel. Christian est également connu pour ses scats qui déchaînent l'enthousiasme du public. Tout les amateurs se souviennent encore de ses extraordinaires « scat battles » avec Jean-Loup Longnon, Daniel Huck ou Eddie Erickson.
